Salary £32,000 per annum for each post
Full time (36 hours per week), permanent
Based at St Pancras, London

These are exciting opportunities to work with one of the greatest collections of early printed books in the world.

The roles are based within the Library*s Printed Heritage Collections team, with curatorial responsibility for early printed books, periodicals and ephemera published in Europe and America but with an emphasis on British materials. You will work across the broad period 1450-2000, but with a particular focus on collection items produced in either the 16th and 17th centuries, or the 17th and 18th centuries.

You will have responsibility for building and managing these collections, and a significant part of your role will be the interpretation of the collections for a wide range of users, for example through facilitating research for the academic community, taking part in the Library*s cultural programme by curating exhibitions or giving public talks, or by contributing to information on our website aimed at schools and lifelong learners. You will be part of a team that aims to make our rich collections accessible and relevant to as wide a range of people as possible. You will need to have a good knowledge of historical bibliography, underpinned by relevant academic or professional qualifications. You will also have experience of working in a research library or a similar institution and of interpreting specialist subjects to a general audience.

Closing Date: 5 April 2016, Interview Date: 3 & 4 May 2016
