<p class="MsoNormal">You are invited to submit proposals for papers to be given at a special joint session of the Canadian Association of University Teachers of German (CAUTG) and the Canadian Society of Medievalists (CSM). We welcome papers presenting original,
unpublished research on the topic <b>Energizing Communities in Medieval Germany – Literature, Art, Culture.
</b><o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">A copy of your proposal (maximum 400 words) should be in the hands of the session organizer (<a href="mailto:markus.stock@utoronto.ca">markus.stock@utoronto.ca</a>) no later than <b>15 November 2015</b>; late proposals will not be considered.
Proposals are to be submitted electronically as a Word document. Because the proposals are refereed blind by an adjudication committee, the authors’ names should not appear on the proposal itself. Please include your university affiliation and contact information
in the e-mail with which you send your proposal. Decisions will be announced by early January.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">The CAUTG and CSM meet as part of the annual Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences of Canada, organized by the Canadian Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences (<a href="http://www.fedcan.ca/"><span lang="EN-US">www.fedcan.ca</span></a>). The
largest multidisciplinary meeting in Canada, the Congress hosts the meetings of dozens of scholarly associations, bringing together scholars from across Canada and around the world.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The overall theme of the 2016 Congress is “Energizing Communities.” Due to recent changes at the federal funding body, CAUTG and CSM may not be able to offer travel assistance to those reading papers. Therefore, we strongly encourage presenters
to seek funding at their institution.<o:p></o:p></p>
