Fremdheit und konstituiert damit eine Grenze des Verstehens und Wissens. Im
antiken philosophischen Diskurs bestimmt das Staunen (θαυμάζειν) die Grenze zum
Unwissen und ruft einen Schwindel der Verunsicherung hervor, aus dem heraus
sich ein Begehren nach Wissen entwickeln kann.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="DE">Es ist zugleich auch Ausdruck einer
semantischen Leere vor dem Fremden, das sich dem Erfahrungswissen entzieht. Es
ist ein Moment der verunsichernden Re-Flexion auf die Begrenztheit des eigenen
Bereichs und gleichzeitigen Öffnung des Blicks auf ein Neues, Anderes, Fremdes:
So ist dem Staunen eine intrikate Ambivalenz inne.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="DE">Einerseits wird Staunen zum Stimulus eines
Begehrens nach Grenzüberschreitung, sei dies im Bereich des Wissens, der Macht
oder der Imagination. Anderseits kann Staunen aber auch, als Ende jeden
Begehrens, zum Indiz einer Unfassbarkeit werden, zum Ausdruck eines Zustands,
in dem sich ein radikal anderes, nicht mehr an Körper und Verstand gebundenes
Wissen ereignet. Auf dem Hintergrund dieser Phänomene stellt sich dann auch die
Frage, inwiefern Staunen im Kunstdiskurs zu einem Moment des lustvollen
Verharrens auf den Grenzen der Wahrnehmung, des Wissens und der Erfahrung
werden kann.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="DE">Die Tagung hat zum Ziel, aus verschiedenen
Disziplinen und im Blick auf verschiedene historische Zeiten die Aufmerksamkeit
